Pasta Marinara


It's SunRype's Pure Orange Juice that makes all the difference in this marinara sauce.

Prep Time:  10 minutes

Cook Time:  1 1/4 hours

Makes:  2-4 servings


1/2 cup (125 mL)
1/4 cup (60 mL)
SunRype Pure Orange Juice
1 cup (250 mL)
tomato paste
3/4 cup (175 mL)
crushed tomatoes
1 tsp. (5 mL)
1 tsp. (5 mL)
1/2 tsp. (2.5 mL)
crushed red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp. (15 mL)
garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. (15 mL)
fresh oregano, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. (7.5 mL)
fresh basil, chopped
3 tsp. (15 mL)
olive oil


In a large saucepan, bring water & orange juice to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Add tomato paste & tomatoes. Mix well. Add crushed red pepper flakes, pepper & salt. Let sit for about 5 minutes. Mix well. Add garlic, oregano & basil. After another 5 minutes, add olive oil & let simmer for 1 hour. Serve over pasta.
