Preparation

Shake these Easter egg-shaped goodies to hear the 100% Real Fruit Goodness inside - covered in chocolate!

Prep Time:  40 minutes

Makes:  12

Ingredients

12
plastic snap-apart Easter eggs
12-36
toothpicks
3 Tbsp. (45 mL)
butter or margarine
1 pkg.
regular marshmallows (approximately 40)
6 cups (1.5 L)
Rice Krispies® cereal
12-36 pieces
SunRype FruitSource Bars cut up or FruitSource Bites
1/2 - 1 cup (125-250 mL)
dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate baking melts

Instructions

Clean, then coat inside of plastic eggs with cooking spray. Set aside. In microwave-safe bowl heat butter & marshmallows on high for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Add cereal. Stir until well coated. Using greased hands, firmly press 1/4 cup (60 mL) of cereal mixture into each plastic egg half. Use fingers, make hollow centre in each half. Remove from molds. Place on wax paper. Cool slightly. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in the microwave on medium, 30 seconds at a time until melted. Stick small pieces of FruitSource Bites or Bar pieces on a toothpick and dip in chocolate. Let harden on wax paper in fridge for a few minutes. Place 1-3 pieces (depending on size) of the chocolate covered FruitSource pieces in one half of each egg. Gently press two halves of each egg together until they stick. Cool completely. Best if served the same day. Store no more than two days at room temperature in an airtight container.
